NPPC COMPETITVE SHOOTING

MATCH RULES

  1.   Failure to obey any of the safety rules will result in match disqualification and loss of entry fee.
  2.   Any person that has been drinking alcohol or not in complete control of his faculties will not be allowed to participate.
  1.   Hearing and eye protection must be worn when shooting.
  2.   All pistols must be kept in a holster or case and unloaded until at the firing line and the command to load is given.
  1.   The muzzle must point down rage at all times when your pistol is out of the holster or case.
  2.   The range officer will give all commands.

6A.   The range officer will give a description of the course to be fired.

6B.   “Load and make ready”    When this command is given the competitor will face the target, load  his handgun and secure it’s safety, place it in his holster or held in the ready position.

6C.   “Are you ready?    If the competitor is not ready at the time of this command he must shout  “not ready”.

6D.   “Standby”    This command will be followed by an audible cue to commence firing.

6E.    “Unload”    After completing the stage this command is given.  Revolver shooters must open  the action and eject fired or un fired rounds from the cylinder.  Auto shooters must  remove the magazine pull the side to the rear to open the action, and visually  inspect the chamber.  This must be done with the muzzle pointed down range.

6F.    “Hammer down”    After unloading the pistol must be pointed down range and the trigger  pulled.

6G.     “Holster”    When this command is given and the competitor has completed the unload and  hammer down commands the handgun must then be placed in a holster or gun  case.

6H.     “Line clear”    After all gun safety has been performed the range officer will give this command to go down range.

  1.     Shooters in classes “Unclassified”, “C” and “B” will begin with pistol in hand, finger off of the

     trigger, and pointed down range until the cue to begin firing is given.

  7A.      Shooters in “A” and “Master” classes must begin each stage with the pistol holstered and have to draw the pistol from their holster when the cue is given to begin.  Starting positions will  alternate every seven weeks between hands up, palms above shoulders and hands down, palms below the grip of the pistol.

  1.   New shooters may choose to begin in either “Unclassified” or “A” class.
  2.   “Limited division” pistols without compensators with only iron sights. 
  3.   “Open division” pistols with optic sights and or compensators.   
  4.     Participants must declare either OPEN or LIMITED division.
  5.     Participants may compete in both OPEN or LIMITED division each week.
  6.     Participants wanting to compete in both divisions must pay an entry fee for each division.
  7.     Participants that compete in limited and open divisions will have separate averages for each division.
  1.     The highest score possible is 600 points.  A participant’s classification will be determined by his average.   After a person participates in three matches his average score will determine which class he will shoot in.

  1.   Participants may choose to move up one classification.  Participants may not move down in  Classification except when their averages fall into a lower classification.
  1.   Shooting rotation during each match:  Limited Division shoots first  classes C, B, A, Master and 
  2.   Unclassified.  Followed by Open Division classes C, B, A, Master and Unclassified.
  3.   All stages require six rounds only in each magazine.  Participants found with more than six rounds in each magazine will be given one warning.  The next violation will result in a ten-point deduction from their score on that stage.   Participants may have six rounds plus one dummy round in each magazine.  (Dummy round, case and bullet with no primer or powder)  Mark each dummy round. 

      19A.  Stages that require 12 rounds total with a reload; participants may have 7 rounds in the first magazine and 5 rounds in the second magazine.

  1.   Participants firing after the time limit will receive a 10 point deduction per shot fired.  To receive a deduction the shot would have to be fired .31 of a second or more over the time limit.
  1.   Prizes will be awarded for first place in each class.  Prizes will be awarded for second place in  

  each class only when there are four or more participants in that particular class.  Unclassified will only be awarded first place when there are 3 or more participants.

  1.  Participants must compete in a minimum of 18 matches to qualify for the Championship Match. Participants may combine the matches from limited and open divisions total of 18 matches.
  1.   Participants must compete in a minimum of 10 matches in the particular division that he wants to compete in for the Championship Match.
  1.   Stages that require participants to engage the targets in a particular order; when engaged out of order will result in a ten-point penalty per each 6 rounds.  Example: A 6 round stage engaged out of order results in a ten-point penalty.  A 12 round stage engaged out of order results in a  20-point penalty.  A 18 round stage engaged out of order results in a 30 point penalty.
  1.   All stages are scored as marked on the target.
  2.   All steel plates and poppers scored as 10 point.
  3.   Stages with hard cover:  Hits that are completely in the hard cover do not score points they also do not receive a penalty.  Partial hits to the hard cover and target score points as marked on that  target. 
  1.   Stages with no shoot targets:  Hits to the no shoot target receive a 10 point per hit penalty.  Partial hits receive a 10 point penalty plus the score from the target. 

PCC DIVISION MATCH RULES

  1. Defining PCC: PCC stands for a Pistol Caliber Carbine.
  2. A carbine is defined as a light small rifle.  It may have a short barrel as in a SBR, a legal short barreled rifle.  Other than a SBR all rifles must have a 16” barrel.
  3. Pistol calibers include 9mm, 10mm, 357 Sig, 40 S&W, 45 ACP and 38 super.  This does not include 556, 223 or 300 Blackout.
  4. This year we will not break down shooters into classes as Master, A, B and C.  All participants will compete in one class.  Also we will not have an Open division or Limited division.
  5. Participants wanting to compete within the pistol divisions may only compete in two divisions per match day.   Example:  a participant may compete in A class Open and PCC. 
  6. Starting position will be with butt stock against shoulder muzzle pointed downrange at a 45 degree angle.  The rifle safety must be engaged and the shooters figure must be off of the trigger.
  7. Storage between stages will be on a rifle rack behind the firing line with the actions locked open.  If the action does not lock open then a chamber flag must be inserted into the action.
  8. Handling the rifles when it is your turn to shoot, the muzzle must be pointed up moving from the rifle rack to the shooting point.  When handling the rifle the muzzle must be pointed up at all times until at the firing line and the instruction given to load and make ready.   Also after the stage is completed the rifle must be placed back into the rifle rack with the muzzle pointed up.  
  9. PCC participant’s scoring will be the same as the handguns.
  10. PCC rounds per magazine rules are the same as the handgun rules.  Only the amount of rounds required per stage will be allowed with a 6 rounds per magazine limit.  Example: if the stage requires 18 rounds then three 6 round magazines will be needed.
  11. All other rules are applied the same as handguns to the PCC division.
  12. All commands given will be the same as with handguns.
  13. The shooting order will be Limited, Open then PCC.
  14. Entry fee will be the same as with handguns $15.00 per shooter.
  15. Remember this is new to all participant’s within NPPC if needed we will make rule changes.
  16.   Suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.

Two NPPC-Black targets.

Time limit 18 seconds 

Targets placed at 5 yards

STAGE ONE

Engage each target with six rounds to the head.

Mandatory reload after 6 rounds.

Engage each target with six rounds to the center.

Mandatory reload after 6 rounds.

STAGE THREE

Engage each target with three rounds to the center and three rounds to the head.

Engage each target with five rounds to the center and one round to the head.

2024-2

Three NPPC white targets: one each placed at 5, 7 and 10 yards.

Rule 24 enforced:    All targets must be engaged in the order described within each stage.

This match requires the use of three magazines or speed loaders.

Time limit 20 seconds for stages one, two and three.

STAGE ONE

Engage the 5-yard target with five rounds to the center and one round to the head.

Mandatory reload.

Engage the 7-yard target with four rounds to the center and two rounds to the head.

Mandatory reload.

Engage the 10-yard target with three rounds to the center and three rounds to the head.

STAGE TWO

Engage the 5-yard target with four rounds to the center and two rounds to the head.

2024-5

Two NPPC-Black targets one placed to the left at 5 yards and one target placed on the right at 7 yards.  Both targets partially covered by a no shoot target.

All targets may be engaged in any order.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

This match requires the shooter to start from the seated position and remain seated through the complete stage.

Start with pistol unloaded with magazines or speed loaders on the bench in front of the shooters.

Time limit 18 seconds

STAGE ONE

Engage each black target with six rounds to the center.

Mandatory reload after 6 rounds.

 STAGE TWO

Engage each black target with six rounds to the head.

Mandatory reload after 6 rounds.
